Keshab swain a common man born in a small village in an ordinary family.From the childhood he saw all the reality of life with a close look.He never imagine one day that ordinary man become an important person by writing his name in different different books and become the inspiration for others.In India’s eastern state of Odisha, Keshab Swain of Bhubaneswar city (Odisha) is the first Odia who created a history in Guinness World Records by smashing 85 green coconuts with his elbow in just one minute in the year 2012. A Martial Art Expert, Keshab Swain first made it to the Limca Book of Records in 2007 by breaking 135 green coconuts with elbow, fist, knee and head in a time span of 7 minutes and 26 seconds. In 2013, he broke 250 green coconuts with elbow, knee, fist and head in just 8 minutes, 56 seconds flat. With this score, he broke his own earlier record in the Limca Book of Records of breaking 184 green coconuts in six minutes and six seconds in 2010. He has set records in Limca Book of National Records for 5 times.Keshab Swain set a new record recently in the history of Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records by breaking 18 tender coconuts with his head in just 1 minute in 2013.

Biography

Birth Name: Keshab Swain – Date of Birth: 22 May 1972 – Height: 5′ 5″

Born in remote Baharpur village in Dharakot Block, Ganjam District, Odisha. At present he is staying in the state capital Bhubaneswar. Keshab Swain hails from a Hindu Family. His father, Udayanath Swain is a villager earning his livelihood by running a small shop, now 99 years old, living in the village with no means of livelihood, while Keshab’s mother late Tila Swain was a housewife. Keshab is the youngest among three brothers and four sisters. Keshab is a living parable, as poverty forced him to develop skill in plucking coconuts and cracking them open with hand, elbow, knee and fists. Soon this became a passion and an ability he developed over years of consistent practice.

He is the man of steel. At the age of 16, Keshab ran away from his house and accidentally reached Goa. With no money in pocket, when hungry, he plucked some green coconuts from the tree near the beaches of Goa and tried to break them but he could not. Breaking the green coconuts with hands or legs or peeling it off with his teeth was too much for him, but the hunger made him do so. Later on this became his passion and rigorous practice as well as his self-determination helped him to continue breaking green coconuts with his elbow, knee and hea He can break coconut with every bone parts of body having magnificent skill. Keshab practiced all these techniques like Ekalabya of Mahabharata and got the perfection in breaking green coconuts.

He won the Biju Patnaik State Bravery Award for 2008-2009 for rescuing and saving lives of several pilgrims of Madhya Pradesh from a burning bus at Bhubaneswar in 2008. On January 21, 2008, at around 8.45am, as the bus accidentally caught fire at Kalpana square in Bhubaneswar when most of the passengers were sleeping, Keshab Swain risked his life by breaking into the bus and rescued several tourists to safety though he himself sustained injuries in the process. In 2013, Keshab Swain was felicitated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha for meritorious achievements and for bringing glory to the State as the first Odia to become Guinness World Records holder. He is also the first and unique Guinness World Records holder to have created a world record in breaking green coconuts by elbow.

Personal Life

Keshab Swain got married to Pratima Swain. He is blessed with a daughter and a son. While his daughter is now studying Electrical Engineering at ITER , son, a budding cricketer is studying in Standard X. Keshab earns his living by imparting training in self developed and specialized Martial Art, physical fitness & yoga and healing people with naturopathy treatment in Bhubaneswar. For last 30 years, he has been staying at rented dwelling in Bhubaneswar. He neither possesses any land or own house at his village Bhapur or at Bhubaneswar. Such a time came in the life of Keshab which forced him to leave his family and led him to dare to face all consequences . It forced him to take extreme decision which cant be described.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

As a social worker he has organized numerous programs for the betterment of students, youth, women, poor slum dwellers and the general public at large. He been closely associated with many socio-cultural, educational and philanthropic organizations and associations with a high aim to render service for the unenlightened and downtrodden people in and around the capital city of Odisha. Under his viable and dynamic leadership a large number of youth are practicing different adventurous sports to enhance the sports culture of the state, nation and the globe as well as to make their career brighter. Beside social work and awareness programs he has tried his best to render service by providing various kinds of support to the needy people who deserve the same as his high objective is nothing except “work for the nation and service for the mankind.” Whenever someone comes to him for any kind of help he extend whole-hearted support with the aid and advice of experts from all walks of life. Above all Keshab is a strong devotee of Lord Jagannath and Saibaba whose inspiration is the key to his success and their blessing is his capital.

Keshab Swain, the man of Records is a constructive man with a positive personality. He believes in high spirituality and thinks the whole world as his family. For the development of the society, state as well as the nation since long he has been presenting various developmental and reformative plans and agenda to the state government in the fields of Road Safety, Traffic, Environment, Tourism, Tribal, Poverty eradication, Energy, Education, Sports, Health care, Smart city, Flower city and many more.
